Welcome

Hello, I’m Tatiana. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Mt. Shasta, California.

Beginning therapy is a meaningful step. Some people seek support when their suffering has become overwhelming, while others may simply need guidance or a compassionate witness on their journey of personal growth. Wherever you are, I’m glad you’re reaching out.

Therapy offers a space to slow down, explore ourselves more deeply, and become curious about the patterns that shape our lives. You may be struggling with anxiety or overthinking, repeating difficult patterns in relationships, putting others’ needs before your own, questioning your self-worth, or feeling as though your nervous system is always on alert. Sometimes we understand why we feel or behave the way we do, yet insight alone hasn’t been enough to create lasting change.

Therapy can help us understand what lies beneath these patterns. By healing past experiences or reconnecting with aspects of ourselves, we can develop greater freedom in how we relate to ourselves and others.

My Approach to Therapy

My approach is relational, experiential, trauma-informed, and holistic. I am particularly interested in how our early relationships and life experiences shape our nervous system, sense of self, and the ways we relate to others.

From this perspective, many of the things we experience as “symptoms”—anxiety, hypervigilance, emotional shutdown, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or difficulties with intimacy—can be understood as protective strategies that developed for a reason.

Rather than simply trying to eliminate symptoms, we become curious about what they are communicating and what may be needed for meaningful change.

Because healing does not always happen through insight alone, my work often goes beyond traditional talk therapy. I integrate attachment-focused and relational therapy, IFS/parts work, somatic and nervous-system approaches, EMDR, mindfulness, and expressive arts.

A Holistic Perspective

I consider the whole person—the physical, emotional, relational, psychological, creative, environmental, and spiritual dimensions of your experience.

For those who value it, there is room in therapy for spirituality, meaning, creativity, and connection with the natural world. No particular belief system or spiritual orientation is assumed or required.

The Therapeutic Relationship

I strive to create a space that is warm, genuine, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I bring an authentic and direct presence to my work and believe the relationship between therapist and client can itself be an important part of healing.

My role is not to be the expert on your life, but to help you understand and trust your own internal experience more deeply. Together, we can explore the patterns and protective strategies that may be keeping you stuck, heal old wounds, and create greater freedom in how you relate to yourself and others.

Education and Experience

I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Expressive Arts Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies. My clinical experience centers on working with adult individuals and adolescents, with additional experience providing systemic support within families, couples, and school-based settings. I have also offered mentorship and counseling to teens navigating a range of emotional and developmental challenges.

I have pursued extensive post-graduate training in trauma-informed modalities, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and a variety of somatic-based approaches. In addition, I have received specialized training in eco-therapy and have been actively engaged in Indigenous and Earth-based spiritual practices for over 15 years—wisdom traditions that continue to deeply inform my work and worldview.

Before becoming a therapist, I was a practicing artist and co-directed Art Matters, a program supporting adults with developmental disabilities. Through this work, I helped facilitate creative experiences rooted in empowerment, self-expression, and artistic professionalism.

I am passionate about nature and feel most at home while hiking, gardening, dancing, making art, or spending time with loved ones. These practices help ground me and reflect the holistic, embodied approach I bring to my work with clients.

The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.
